Edelman Financial Engines commits $10 million to establish the School of Financial Planning at Rowan University’s William G. Rohrer College of Business. As Founding Head, Ric will help develop curriculum and teach in its programs — with classes launching Fall 2026.

On April 16, 2026, Edelman Financial Engines made a $10 million commitment to Rowan University to create the School of Financial Planning – and I’ve been named its Founding Head.

Here’s why this matters: America is facing a crisis. Millions of people are approaching retirement at the same time thousands of financial advisors are. The industry is projected to be short 100,000 advisors within the next decade. And fewer than 200 colleges in this country offer financial planning degrees.

That changes now.

The School of Financial Planning will live within Rowan’s William G. Rohrer College of Business. We’re building bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, certificates, and executive education – all with a focus on the CFP® designation. Classes start as soon as Fall 2026.

This is about making sure every American who needs quality financial advice can actually get it.
