Forget Turning Water into Wine - This is Better than That
Wait until you see what this new technology is turning water into.
Ric Edelman: It's Monday, July 31st. We need fuel. We don't have much of it. Not nearly as much as we need. But what we do have is water. Plenty of that. Can we turn water into fuel? Well, there's hundreds of billions of dollars being invested to do exactly this. Hundreds of billions. It's all about hydrogen. Green hydrogen is made by splitting the water molecule. Burning hydrogen emits only water vapor. There's no CO2 emission.
So in the Australian outback, there's an area of land eight times bigger than New York City. It's got nearly 2000 wind turbines. Each one of them is as tall as the Empire State Building. There are 10 million solar panels. A thousand miles of access roads connecting them all. And it's all built by a consortium of energy companies led by BP. When it's all built, it's going to produce 26GW of energy, all to manufacture green hydrogen. If it works, we're going to cut global carbon emissions by 5%, maybe by 15%.
This is all pretty exciting, the scale of these kinds of projects to address the environmental issues of climate change and to protect and restore our planet. It's all pretty exciting. I'll bet you never even considered hydrogen to be an investment. Global X has. They actually offer an ETF, the Global X Hydrogen ETF. The symbol is HYDR. You might want to take a look at that, which you can do at global etfs.com or talk to your financial advisor about it.
