Conference Theme: The 60/40 Glidepath is Dead – and What to Do About It

Ric Edelman, Conference Host

Medical advances and improvements in public health have extended longevity like never before. Your clients are likely to live to age 90, 100 and beyond. In this establishment-shattering session, Ric will show you why the 60/40 Glidepath is not only obsolete but dangerous to your clients’ financial security – and what you need to do about it.

Ric sets the tone for the entire conference with this jaw-dropping conversation!

9:30-10:15am ET

The Big Picture, Part 1: The Election’s Impact on the Economy

How will Trump’s policies on budget and tax cuts, tariffs, deregulation and immigration reform affect the economy? We will bring clarity to it all, helping you provide the advice your clients need for all aspects of their personal finances.

The Big Picture, Part 2: The Election’s Impact on the Stock Market

The S&P 500 grew 24% in 2023, and another 23% in 2024. Will 2025 deliver more of the same – or a massive pullback? Unpredictability due to President Trump’s policies, market volatility, opportunities and risks – this session will cover it all, giving you the insights you need for confident conversations with clients.

Caleb Silver, Editor in Chief | Investopedia talks with
Karen Barr, President & CEO | Investment Adviser Association
Joshua Gross, CEO | Mill Creek Capital Advisors

11:15-11:45am ET

The Big Picture, Part 3: The Election’s Impact on the Bond Market

Fireside Chat: Amazon Web Services: A Blockchain Case Study

Exchanges, payments, and other financial services that sit on top of blockchains rely on computer power provided by AWS – from onboarding customers and verifying IDs to monitoring transactions and identifying bad actors. In this fascinating session, you will learn how digital assets and generative AI enhance the security and efficiency of blockchains.

Ric Edelman talks with:
Michael Greenwald, Global Head, Financial Innovation & Digital Assets, Head, Global Executive Relations | Amazon Web Services

1:30-2:00pm ET

The Big Picture, Part 4: The Election’s Impact on the Crypto Market

Think Donald Trump was the winner of the 2024 election? Nah. The big winner was bitcoin – and, by extension, the bulk of the crypto marketplace. The Republican sweep of the House, Senate and White House are widely expected to result in massive price increases for the crypto sector, far beyond what has been seen to date. In this session, you’ll see why HODL (hold on for dear life) has been replaced with HFSP (have fun staying poor) – and how to determine which of your clients ought to have a crypto allocation, the amount to allocate, how to allocate – and how to serve your clients who already own bitcoin, without actually recommending it.

Ric Edelman talks with:
Bill Barhydt, CEO | Abra

Alzheimer’s Disease: Your Clients’ Biggest Fear – and the Biggest Threat to Their Future

By age 60, one in 10 people develop Alzheimer’s Disease. By age 85, it’s one in three. Six million Americans already have the disease, a number that is projected to double within 25 years. There’s no cure or vaccine, and the disease is 100% fatal. It’s also the most expensive disease to treat, because patients live an average 12 years following diagnosis and they typically require 24/7 care. This session features three of the world’s leading experts in the fight against AD, and why and how you must talk about AD with your clients.

Ric Edelman talks with:
Howard Fillit, MD, Co-Founder & Chief Science Officer | Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation
Heather Snyder, Ph.D, SVP, Medical & Scientific Relations | Alzheimer’s Association
George Vradenburg, Co-Founder & Executive Chairman | UsAgainstAlzheimer’s

9:15-10:00am ET

The Financial Planning Strategies Your Clients Need Now to Protect Them from the Devastating Effects of Alzheimer’s Disease

Do you know how to recognize when a client has diminished capacity due to AD or other neurological illness? As their financial advisor, you are uniquely positioned to help protect your clients from scams and elder abuse. The prevalence – and fear – of AD creates perhaps the most valuable benefit you can give your clients, and in this session, you’ll discover how to create a Trusted Contact policy in your practice, and how to apply AD issues in your estate planning and philanthropic strategies.

Ric Edelman talks with:
Zacharia Baldwin, Supervisory Special Agent | FBI
Travis Harrison, Partner | McDermott Will & Emery
Kerry Peck, Managing Partner | Peck Ritchey

Harnessing Alternatives Opportunities

Private equity, venture capital, hedge funds and commodities all are portfolio diversifiers worthy of consideration for a long-term portfolio. In this session, you’ll learn how they complement stocks and bonds, and how to add alts to client portfolios – including the due diligence process you need.

Rick Lake, Founder | Narrative Alpha talks with:
Gregory Khost, Managing Director | Neuberger Berman Private Wealth
William Marr, Senior Managing Director, Wealth Management Group | Welton Investment Partners

11:15-12:00pm ET

Generative AI: Improving Your Tech

ChatGPT and other firms of artificial Intelligence won’t make you obsolete. Instead, you’ll be made obsolete by other RIAs who use this new tech. If you plan on being a financial advisor in five years, or if you ever wish to sell your practice, you have no choice but to add AI to your firm. If you don’t, your clients and AUM will fade away. And the opposite is equally true: by incorporating AI into your tech stack, you’ll operate more efficiently and profitably while delivering better client service than ever. In this session, you’ll learn how other financial advisors are using AI, giving you real-world examples and actionable ideas to help you stay state-of-the-art.
